A familiar brand from Taiwan, “the Meander” for affordable city traveling, came to Vietnam and rented an existing school building in the center of District 1 of Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam. The client was looking for something unique and at that moment the collaboration between TOA and Orange Design studio, was the perfect match for this project.
The Meander sees themselves as an upscale hostel and an affordable 3-4 star hotel. Which will attract an special demographic; young, fast, dynamic and trendy.

An Instagram traveler, a vagabond or the new bleisure generation will come to The Meander Saigon. It’s trendy and a selfie spot. The facade is unique for the city, big rounded windows, not aligned because we want them to meander over the facade like the Saigon River pass through the city. Inside the rounded shapes are coming back with the easy, but trendy functionality.
To increase the business revenue we studied various facilities, based on location and needs. With this a co-working space is created on the 2nd floor, for a coffee or snack the workers can slide down to the bistro. After work on the rooftop a bar is created for the drinks and also for networking events. To combine with the guest who are staying in the hotel, they can integrate in the daily life of people from Saigon.
